While the threat of a terrorist attack is very real, our government has consistantly taken actions that have made us less safe. From their adventurist military actions to their ongoing support for dangerous dictators, from their duck-and-coveresque plans for very real threats to repeated and ever more vague warnings about imminant attacks, our leaders have failed to provide us with the one thing they promise: safety.
DoYouFeelSafer.com presents a dual approach to this problem. First, we seek to publicize the ways in which our government continues to act against our best interests. Second, we provide a launching point for three kinds of actions: voting, campaigning for a safer world, and planning for a possible terrorist attack.
We believe that the most direct action citizens of the US can take is to vote against Bush on November 2nd. In the run up to the election we're planning campaigns that will challenge the government's security policies. We'll also be providing a forum for planning a response to a possible terrorist attack. While we hope that this last piece of our work will not be necessary, we believe that it is critical to be prepared so that any attack cannot be exploited by our government to further consolidate its power and erode our freedoms.
